Avatar vs. The Hurt Locker – which one to see?

I always thought James Cameron’s Terminator 2 was and remains super sci-fi, even if he had not been well covered wearing a Surf Ohio t-shirt on the set. Plus, it starred another Hollywood fan of Surf Ohio, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Cameron’s then wife, fellow director Kathryn Bigelow, was filming Point Break, one of my cult fave flicks, at the same time T2 was in production. Wish I had a pic of Kathryn wearing a Surf Ohio shirt on THAT set!

I don’t get out to many first-run movies these days and, typically with the kids in tow, when I do, it won’t be anything but a PG flick (thank heavens for Pixar…). So I need help – if I can catch but one matinee sans kids this holiday season, between Cameron and Bigelow’s latest, which should it be? Avatar in 3D, or The Hurt Locker? Or another choice entirely?

And if any one has the latest scoop on the production status of Point Break 2, please send an update! I need to get some Surf Ohio’s to the cast – especially if Bohdi lives!
