Surfin’ Safari! Surf Ohio’s limited edition ‘Longboard Legends Collection’ wall decor launches today…

Surf Ohio debuts its Longboard Legends Collection!

I realize I’ve been off the grid for about a month now, and now I can finally reveal why. Today Surf Ohio proudly debuts the first of an all new and original wall décor line called the ‘Longboard Legends Collection.’ Thanks to the creative folks at Jones’ Rustic Sign Company in Moraine, Ohio (located not far from the Great Miami Masters Surfing Classic…), I’ve been able to develop the first three limited edition classic style mini-longboards. We are totally stoked with the results and hope you are, too.

The Rincon, the Pipeline, and the Malibu

We’ve actually been designing and tweaking on these custom mini-surfboards – an all new product category for Surf Ohio – in the Jones’ factory since summer. The results are these way cool, hand-crafted, ready-to-hang, almost two-feet long all-wood miniature longboards. Each one of the first three colorful styles of Longboard Legends – the ‘Rincon,’ the ‘Pipeline’ and the ‘Malibu’ – have been produced in limited editions of 100 each, numbered on the back and signed by yours truly.

Each edition of only 100 has a distinctive color and stripe combo - when they're gone, they're gone!

What a great way to show your Surf Ohio colors, especially if the suits won’t let you wear your fave t-shirt or hat at the office. What a unique gift, too. These nostalgia-invoking collectible boards look fantastic on the walls of any tiki bar, office lobby or beach house. We’re already working on new stripes and colors for the next three editions, as well as plans to offer them through select retail outlets. As for these three debut editions though, you can order them exclusively online here at www.surfohio.com.

Surf Ohio is delighted to donate Longboard Legends #1 from the collection’s ‘Rincon’ edition of 100 (personally autographed on the front by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys) to the non-profit Surfrider Foundation, to auction off at their next annual fundraising benefit. Mahalo for your Surf Ohio and Surfrider support, Mike and Bruce!

I’d love your feedback on the Surf Ohio Longboard Legends Collection. Any classic point breaks you think we should honor (tip: the ‘Makaha’ will be among the next editions…), or new color combos you’d like to see among new editions that will follow in 2012? Reply to me here or shoot me an email with the subject line “Surfin Safari!”
